Three people were fatally shot on Saturday morning at two separate residences in Falls Township in Pennsylvania, according to the authorities, who said they have confined the gunman to a home in Trenton, N.J. The gunman, identified by the authorities as Andre Gordon, 26, drove a stolen vehicle and killed his 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, and 13-year-old sister, Kera Gordon, in Levittown, Pa., according to Jennifer Schorn, the Bucks County, Pa., district attorney. There were three other people, including a 14-year-old, in the home who hid as Mr. Gordon searched for them, Ms. Schorn said. Mr. Gordon then drove to a second nearby residence where he killed Taylor Daniel, a 25-year-old woman with whom he had two children, Ms. Schorn said.

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The man accused of shooting and decapitating his father in their home northeast of Philadelphia and posting a video of the severed head on social media purchased a gun the previous day, the county prosecutor said Friday. She said an autopsy showed that his father had been shot in the head before he was decapitated with a knife and machete. His mother discovered the remains of her husband, Michael F. Mohn, in the Levittown home where the three lived together. In the YouTube video, Justin Mohn picked up his father's head and identified him. Cellphone signals helped locate him, according to Angela Watson, communications director for the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

A Pennsylvania law that makes it a crime to release information about teacher disciplinary complaints is an unconstitutional violation of the First Amendment, a federal judge has ruled. The law's confidentiality provision makes it a misdemeanor to disclose the existence of a state complaint or any information about it unless and until discipline is imposed. U.S. District Judge Karen S. Marston did not strike down the law itself in her Jan. 10 ruling. “The confidentiality provision exists to protect the reputation, privacy, and due process rights of educators” who are accused, and ultimately cleared, of wrongdoing, said Chris Lilienthal, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania State Education Association. Pepper's misconduct complaint centers on a January 2023 email that school psychologist Julia Szarko sent to his school district account.
